My Personal Story (scroll down read my professional bio)
I know what its like, to find yourself in a body that feels foreign to you. It feels heavy and unlovable, you know you want better but don’t know where to start.
For me, my self loathing officially began after I experienced a rape the last semester of my senior year of high school. I say officially because I was already struggling with my self esteem and confidence but that day was definitely when I knew my life would never be the same again.
My relationship with my body has never been the same.
I gained about 15kg (about 30lbs) because food was comfort but it was also protection. I numbed and suppressed myself, my feelings and my voice because shrinking became my survival mechanism.
I woke up one morning with the words ‘Pain’ carved on the inside of my left forearm and I knew I had to make some drastic changes in my life.
I embarked on a journey of well-being, self love and fitness, not only physically but mentally and emotionally especially.
I’ve used the knowledge I gained from my degree in Health Management, Personal Trainer Certification and Health Coaching Certification to lose the extra 15kg (about 30lbs) of weight I was carrying. My movement practice became even more powerful with the addition of my Pilates Instructor apprenticeship and certification. I went to therapy. I began to know and understand myself so I could love myself and see my own worth and value.
My shift towards healthy living and fitness helped me to get strong, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
My body and my external habits are a reflection of my internal habits.
My mission is to teach and show other woman who have been through what I’ve been through, how to transform their own pain to their power. That they can still live a whole, healthy, juicy and abundant life no matter what they have been through.
Yes I can show you how to lose body fat and manage your weight but my approach is about so much more than that. Its a self love approach to fitness. No shame, no guilt, no restriction or punishment. We move and nourish our bodies because we love them.
When I take care of myself and my body, I feel good and I love the how I look. When I feel good I continue doing those things that make me feel good.
My purpose is to show you, in the way that I live my own life, how to do the same for yourself intentionally, imperfectly and authentically.
